To obtain a PCB layout quote, ProtoCAD requires: ProtoCAD
offers an up front, one time fixed price quote for all design layouts.
Delivery to the customer will include everything needed to fabricate,
assemble and test a very high quality PC board design.
Schematic All parts are shown on schematic, including decoupling caps. Parts are labeled with reference designators corresponding to BOM. All electrical connections are shown on and all IC pins are numbered. Indicate traces carrying high currents and assign current requirement. Critical Routing Requirements, Clock Routing, Matched Lengths, Differential Pairs, Guard Traces, Split Planes, Etc… Polarized caps marked with + sign. Copy of the schematic, soft copy in PDF format or the database.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Manufacturer, part number, package style, reference designator. All Data Sheets with footprint dimensions and references for Pin 1. Manufacturers’ part specification link.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Dimensions of printed circuit board outline prefer in PDF or DXF format. Location and size of mounting holes and mechanical hardware. Show restricted areas where no components or traces are allowed. Location of any parts having fixed locations. i.e Connectors, Switches. Circuit Technology, high speed digital, RF, Analog, optical, Etc. Single or double sided assembly. PCB thickness and substrate material, IE FR-4. Expected layer count and if any critical multi-layered stack-up info. Preferred minimum via size, line widths and spacing.
Miscellaneous Design Guidelines (Fiducial locations, tooling hole locations, Assembly requirements, etc…) Do you have special PCB design rules, restrictions, or PCB layout goals Is the PCB layout to comply with PCB design standards other than IPC? What level of documentation do you need (complete or basic). Turnaround time required and estimated start date. Electronic (PDF) copy of Purchase Order.
